"Mommy, can we put a little make-up on?"...
Lincoln, Waverly and I had run by the library on Tuesday morning to take back a pile of books and pick up another pile - some were for story time, but another big chunk was for Russia, the next country we would be studying. Several of the story books I had put on hold weren't available yet, so we only had these five for the week and we read them all during tea & story time. They were:
"Pumpkin Jack"
"Pumpkin Pumpkin"
"The Giving Tree"
Stellaluna"
"Ten Little Beasties"
Thanks to the two pumpkin books, the kids all decided that after we carved pumpkins this year we should save some of the seeds and attempt to grow our own pumpkins for next fall.
Scarlett, hard at work on her Jaguar board for presentations. I had printed off a long list of jaguar facts, asked her to read through all of them, then pick a few to discuss and we'd print pictures. Well, after reading all of the facts, she decided she couldn't choose - she liked all of them too much! - so she had her work cut out for her to get it all organized on the board, condense some of the facts into manageable paragraphs, and memorize the information.
The kids all had baths before karate, and Scarlett wanted to stay in with Waverly - she was so sweet with her, singing little songs and gently pouring water over her belly so that she wouldn't get too cold. Such a good big sister!
