Tuesday, July 16th

While still not quite as hot as usual for July in Georgia, Tuesday was much closer to normal and very muggy.  A perfect morning to head to the Silver Comet Trail fountain with friends from SASCH (our homeschool group)!  The fountain isn't huge, but the kids love it anyway and of course we're always happy for any excuse to go and hang out with friends :-)

The fountain!  The water was ICY cold.

Silly Scarlett :-)

Lincoln in his action hero pose, ready to race through the middle (big) geyser.

Finally the sun came out!  This gave everyone a second burst of energy.

Sweet Victoria

Lincoln in motion!

When we first arrived, I had gotten the kids all set up and sent them to run amok while I tied on my baby wearing wrap.  I was just about to put her in when my dear friend Amanda said, "What? I want to hold her!" :-)  Waverly loves snuggling with her (and the feeling is mutual, I'm pretty sure).  I eventually just took my wrap off since there was no need for it, lol.

Lincoln & Judd showing off their huge muscles!

I mean, it doesn't get more comfortable that THAT!  Arm tucked behind your head, legs totally relaxed and an arm to keep you upright.  Life is good :-)

Olivia and Scarlett!  For over five years now, they've gone back and forth in height - Olivia would have a growth spurt and then Scarlett would catch up, and vice versa.  I think we may have reached the tipping point this summer!

Lunch time rolled around, and Waverly had to lounge in the camping chair for a few minutes - you can tell she was really bothered by this ;-)

The lunch crew!

"Look, mommy!!  Am I super strong?"  You sure are, buddy!

After lunch we played for another half hour, and then it was time to head home to get cleaned up and have a rest time.  During this down time, I took turns doing school one-on-one with the kids; then when rest was over we had tea & story time and drew new pictures to add to our collections.

Scarlett and Victoria both did reading and math.  They are both enjoying our new "Life of Fred" math book - Victoria in particular asks to do "just one more!" chapter.  I had to cut her off after four full chapters, promising we could do more the next day :-)

Scarlett's story-related drawing: "The maid vacuums Edward and sucks up his watch."

Victoria's drawing (different scene, and she did her writing on the back of her page): "Edward gets shaken by Rosie."

Lincoln was non-committal on what his drawing was about :-p  That's okay though, it's great that he's following along with the story and attempting to create a scene!

Soon we were ready for our afternoon pool time; the kids are funny - with so much time in the pool they are getting used to it and instead of being IN the pool as much, they play games AROUND the pool quite a bit.

There were bad guys under the deck that needed to be sprayed with water, then they would run back and jump into the Safe Zone of the pool!

Ah, bed time for the kids!  Well... for most of the kids.  One little Wright wanted to practice holding her head up and making funny faces :-)
