Saturday, August 24th - SASCH Back to School Party

Although the party wasn't until the late afternoon and the house was already clean and guest-ready, we still had quite a bit to do on Saturday.  A ton of it was Jim - he set up tables, rearranged several things in the back yard, put up canopies and cleaned out the pool.  What a guy! :-)  Of course there was the fun part, too - decorations!

Eventually it was time for friends to start arriving, and we had such a fun evening, very relaxed and enjoyable.  I'm so glad that we are part of a wonderful Christian homeschool group and can both get and give encouragement to others on a similar journey.  Looking forward to the 2013-2014 school year!!

Waverly, talking to Nana on Saturday morning :-)

My friend Marie made these perfect multi-colored banners for the party - love them!

"Back to School"

All festive indoors!  Actually, very few people came inside the house, but that's okay - the kids really enjoyed watching/helping and said, "Oh, it's SO BEAUTIFUL!" ;-)  Since I was doing it for them, it was their stamp of approval I most cared for and they definitely gave it!

Victoria and her friend Shaylyn - they spent a large portion of the party time running quietly around the house and yard being secret spies (because of course).

Backyard - friends starting to arrive!

Time to eat!

The boys (Judd, Lincoln and Ian) did their best to dig enough holes in the yard to make it hazardous.  Thanks guys!

At the end of the evening, after the last family had departed, Victoria went out front to the bush by our mailbox and came back with a huge handful of these pretty stems.  She said they were for me for doing a great job :-)  I got out a vase and let her arrange them; so pretty and such a sweet girl!

  1. Thank you so much for opening up your home (and pool)! We had a really fun time, and enjoyed getting to know some of the new families better.

    1. Thanks Sarah! Lincoln has been asking after Ian on a daily basis - we need to get them together sometime soon! And let the baby girls stare at each other ;-)
