Sunday, September 22nd

After a glorious night of uninterrupted sleep, Jim and I had a leisurely morning before heading to a store we'd wanted to check out for a while called Prepper's Vault in Kennesaw.  No, we are not crazy preppers like on tv, but we also think a certain amount of emergency supplies is smart and had been wanting to put together a pack with a few essentials that would be kept in one of our vehicles.  This way, whether camping or road side situation or anytime we could possibly be stranded for any reason away from home, we would have the peace of mind to know we had the necessary items to see us through a 48-hour period.  Also, we totally geek out on this stuff ;-)  So of course had a great time browsing throughout the store!

When we returned home around 3:00 p.m., we gave everyone lots of hugs and kisses and received the full run down on behavior (all good) from Grammie and Nana, then had a few presents to pass out.  Jim had an item to return, so the big kids volunteered to go and keep him company (you know, so he wouldn't be lonely haha) before returning home and taking a Bug Out Bag Preparedness Course from daddy :-)

I had so many hugs and kisses to give the big kids, but I was in especially desperate need of baby snuggles - Waverly let me know that, while I wasn't officially fired, I would definitely be receiving a note in my permanent record about this absence.

Jim and I picked up this button down shirt, tie, and hat especially for Lincoln - it was so him.  Sure enough, despite several other cool presents from us, this was absolutely his favorite ;-)  When Jim said the kids could accompany him to the mall, Lincoln said, "Oh yah! But, daddy, I want to wear this style [outfit] to the mall, okay?" Haha

Excited to tell me all about her exersaucer and the various bells and whistles.

Daddy's crew~

All three kids chose to wear something new that we'd brought back for them - they felt so stylish.

They browsed around at the beanie boos (but did not get one! they had, after all, just gotten some in the mail!).

Jim treated them to mall-food-court Chinese, their favorite (gag)!

Meanwhile at home...sleepy, duck-lip faces were in full force :-)

Gosh, how I love these kids of ours!

Jim said that several people gave them huge smiles when they saw Linc's outfit, and a couple even came over and stopped them just to comment on how cute he was - of course, that's just an average day for this ham ;-)

The kids with their hiking packs, listening attentively as Jim worked through the ins and outs of emergency preparedness supplies, asking good questions and working through different scenarios. Mini-preppers in the making, hehe

And once the baby was asleep, I lit our new delicious smelling candle from Bath & Body Works and relished being back home.  Our weekend getaway was truly wonderful and refreshing but it's hard to be away from my babies!  As we relaxed and chatted, this scent filled the air and my heart was happy :-)
